Galleri Thomassen is pleased to present the exhibition Din jävla hora by Carolina Falkholt.
During this summer Carolina Falkholt has worked on-site and created 5 site specific installations, one for each room of the gallery. The exhibition Din jävla hora is a self biographic vindication and universal story about oppression and liberation. Through painting, photography, sound, sculpture and textile Falkholt takes us on a journey though her own personal universe. A world that brings up urgent questions, calls for action and offers comfort.

Carolina Falkholt (born 1977 in Gothenburg) lives and works in Gothenburg. She is well know both in Sweden and internationally for her characteristic and momumental wallpaintings. Her work has been included in multiple museum exhibitions most recently at Gothenburg Museum of Art, Artipelag and Eskilstuna Art Museum. This summer, her installation Train of Thoughts in currently on view at Wanås Konst. She is the recipient of numerous residencies and grants, most recently the IASPIS one year residency at the ISCP in New York. Her work is represented in both private and public collections. This is her first solo show with the gallery.

Vi är glada över att presentera Carolina Falkholts första soloutställning Din jävla hora på galleriet.
Under sommaren har Carolina Falkholt arbetat på plats i galleriet och skapat specifika installationer för galleriets alla fem rum. I utställningen Din jävla hora möter vi en både självbiografisk och allmängiltig berättelse om förtryck och frigörelse. Genom måleri, fotografi, ljud, skulptur och textil leds besökaren genom ett universum som både ställer frågor, uppmanar till handling, utmanar och ger lindring.

Carolina Falkholt är född 1977 i Göteborg. Hon är välkänd både i Sverige och internationellt för sitt karaktäristiska och monumentala måleri i det offentliga. Falkholt har tidigare visat sitt arbete på bland annat Göteborgs Konstmuseum, Artipelag och Eskilstuna Konstmuseum. I sommar visar hon installationen Train of Thoughts på Wanås Konst. Falkholt har tilldelats ett flertal utmärkelser och stipendier, senast IASPIS ettåriga ateljéstipendium vid ISCP i New York. Hennes arbete finns representerat både i offentliga och privata samlingar.
