BEATE HÖING – Hello Again

September 15 - October 7, 2018

Galleri Thomassen is pleased to present hello againBeate Höing´s second solo show at the gallery. In the exhibition Höing invites the viewer into an ambivalent game of reality and fiction where dreams and nightmares, relief and dread lie side by side in wall installations and sculptures.

Her work is inspired by the ornamental and textural material used in the cultural-historical folk art of fairy tales and myths as well as in traditions and rituals, out of which she has created her own autonomous iconography.

Beate Höing (b. 1966) lives and works in Coesfeld and Münster, Germany. She studied at the Freie Kunstakademie Rhein / Ruhr in Essen and Krefeld, Germany (2001-2005) and is a lecturer at the European Academy of Fine Arts Trier since 2010. Selected exhibitions include Föhn, Kunstverein Landshut, Landshut, (2018), Du, Venus und Ich, Janinebeangallery, Berlin (2018), DIE GROSSE, Museum Kunstpalast, Düsseldorf, (2018), Face Time, Galerie RoyZülpich  (2017). Her work can be found in public and private collections in Germany and across Europe.
