Patrik Bengtsson – “Verdurafältet (Episod 2 – Rise of The Bacchus Riders)”
The first exhibition to open at our new venue in Sockerbruket 33
Opening: August 17th

Patrik Bengtsson, born in 1978 in Gislaved, lives and works in Gothenburg. He obtained his Master’s degree in Fine Arts from Valand Academy in 2005. His work centers on storytelling, using allegories and symbolism to explore the human relationship with time and space, drawing on art history, science, and popular culture.

Bengtsson’s practice involves amalgamations, repetitions, and labor-intensive processes, focusing on human connections to place, time, and history. Starting with memories, myths, or historical events, he dissects these and seeks references in art history, popular science, and culture to create new images and situations. His approach challenges existing answers and offers new questions, conveying the weight of history.

He has exhibited at Galleri Thomassen, Galleri Mors Mössa, Gothenburg Art Hall, Alingsås Art Hall, Kiruna City Hall, Vandalorum, and Bonniers Konsthall. His public works are featured at Värnamo Hospital and Jubilee Park in Frihamnen, Gothenburg.

The first episode of Vedurafältet, Blod och Klorofyll, is currently on view at Röda Sten Konsthall, see images by Hendrik Zeitler below
