THE ARTISTIC TRAVEL NARRATIVE, STAGE 1: HEMINGWAY AND ME
The installation consists of memoirs written by a traveling artist. She has been everywhere, seen everything, and had a man in every port. But is it as romantic to be a free-spirited bohemian in our time as it was when Hemingway wandered around Paris, Athens, Havana, or Malaga?
Hemingway and Me is the first part of a larger project, The Artistic Travel Narrative. The project explores the journey as a narrative structure and the significance of travel for artists throughout art history to the present day, when traveling has become much more complex and problematic in various ways.
