At the core of Roger Metto’s artistry lies the unique character of the northern landscapes, where forests and mountains engage in an ongoing dialogue.

His works capture the gentle curves of mountain silhouettes, the shifting light and colors of the sky, as well as the countless variations of shadows and textures that bring these scenes to life. With a sense of both permanence and change, each brushstroke reflects memory and the passage of time. In Metto’s complex imagery, internal and external landscapes interact, where form and content, as well as color and darkness, create a dynamic unity. His art explores themes related to existence, memory, and the expression of perception and context, offering a deeper exploration of our own experiences and connections to the world around us.

Roger Metto (b. 1964 in Kiruna) lives and works in Stockholm, Sweden. Educated at the RoyalInstitute of Art from 1993 to 1998. Represented at Moderna Museet, Gothenburg Museum of Art, British Museum, Turku Art Museum, and the Swedish Arts Council, among others. Previous solo exhibitions include Bror Hjorths House, Bildmuseet in Umeå, Uppsala Art Museum, and Millesgården in Stockholm

Ruben Risholm creates sculpture and relief in wood and ceramics, as well as drawings, where each piece acts as a fragment of a shared inner world

Often working with entire tree trunks of various woods, Risholm engages deeply with the trees, allowing the material itself to guide and limit thecreative process. Religion, myth, and folklore are significant themes in Risholm’s practice, frequently connecting with his inner life and personal experiences. His work is driven by a strong belief in thematerialization of unconscious thought through his art.

The ancient Egyptian tradition of sculpture, where each piece fulfills an existential purpose, serves as a major influence. In his art, symbol, reality, and representation converge in serene figures that assume a role through their static poses and concentrated, intense presence.

Ruben Risholm (b. 1993) lives and works in Gothenburg, Sweden. He was educated at Helsinki Art Academy, earning a Bachelor’s degree (2020) and a Master’s degree (2022) from Malmö Art Academy. Risholm has since maintained an active exhibition schedule across Sweden and Finland, with recent solo shows at Ebelingmuseet in Eskilstuna, and Kristinehamn Art Museum. His works arerepresented in the collections of institutions such as Malmö, Kristinehamn and Eskilstuna ArtMuseums, Statens konstråd, and the municipalities collections of Stockholm and Gothenburg amongothers.
