Astrid Sylwan, born in 1970 in Antwerp, is a Swedish artist based in Stockholm. She was educated at Konstfack, where she completed her degree in fine art in 2005. Sylwan is known for her vibrant and abstract large-scale paintings. Rapidly, she has emerged as a leading figure among Sweden’s painters. She has acquired numerous prestigious grants, extensively exhibited her work throughout the Nordic region, and her artworks currently adorn the collections of renowned institutions such as Moderna Museet, Statens konstråds, and Malmö Art Museum.
