Rebecca Burkhalter / Lone Larsen

May 17 - June 17, 2018

“Memories, encapsulated, loss.
Humor and sorrow.
Careful care and blisters.
Unexpected meetings and stories
Riddles without answers”
– Rebecca Burkhalter

Galleri Thomassen is pleased to present Rebecca Burkhalter´s exhibition Segertåg (Parade) concurrently with Lone Larsen´s exhibition Visselblåsarna (The Whistleblowers) . Rebecca Burkhalter presents a new series of paintings where she carefully portrays a motley crew of figurines, dolls, trolls and other characters. This is her fourth solo show at the gallery.

In the downstairs gallery, Lone Larsen shows enamel paintings together with objects. Larsen´s work is based on her knowledge and background as a registered nurse and her ongoing research on abnormalities in organisms.
The paintings are created based on details that you could see in microscopic preparations and biochemical markers. Showing deviations in our environment caused by disturbances and its impact on our ecosystem. The objects represent mutated creatures, arised from altered cell structures, that exist adjacent to the normal.
